DAY1. ARRIVAL YANGON
Welcome by our tour guide upon arrival at Yangon International Airport. Take a few hours for refreshment. Evening tour begins with the most magnificent and spectacular Shwedagon Pagoda before the sun set and enjoy the beauty of Stupa while it changes the shining of gold in different tones according to the radiant of the setting sun. Dine at local restaurant and overnight in Yangon.
DAY2. YANGON – MANDALAY BY FLIGHT
After breakfast, transfer to airport for domestic flight to Mandalay. On arrival, transfer to hotel for check-in. Proceed directly to Amarapura. Visit MAHAGANDAYON, a famous Buddhist monastery, where more than a thousand monks live and study Buddhism. And then proceed to Sagaing Hill. The Sagaing Hills are dotted with pagodas and there are over 500 monasteries, a retreat for some 6000 monks and nuns. Soon U Ponya Shin Pagoda, Kaung Hmudaw Pagoda ( a copy of the Mahaceti Pagoda in Sri Lanka), and Ywahtaung (home of the silversmiths’ guilds) are places worth visiting. Proceed to Ava ( Inwwa ), Visit Bagaya Monastery, Mai Nu Oak Kyaung or the Brick Monastery. Go back to Amayapura,the 200-year-old U BEIN teak bridge, built in 1782 at the time when Amarapura was the Royal Capital. Overnight in Mandalay.
DAY3. MANDALAY – MINGUN – MANDALAY BY BOAT
Breakfast at hotel, you will discover the charms of old Burma as you take a journey through two of Myanmar’s ancient capitals. Drive to Kywezon jetty to watch the busy riverside activity and take a local riverboat to the ancient capital of Mingun (appr. 1 hour per way). Visit the Settawya Pagoda, with a footprint of the Buddha, walk to the huge Mingun Bell- the world’s largest ringing bell exists (It weighs 55555 viss), the nearby unfinished MingunPahtodawgyi- one of the famous buildings in the world., Myatheindan (Hsinbyume) Pagoda, built by King Bagyidaw in 1816, three years before he succeeded Bodawpaya as king, the pagoda was constructed in memory of his senior wife the Hsinbyume princess., a reproduction of the mythological Mt. Meru. Drive back to Mandalay. And lunch at local restaurant. Sightseeing begins MAHAMUNI PAGODA with its spectacular Buddha image covered with thick layers of gold leaves and visit to the Gold Leaf Workshop and Tapestry Workshop. Then, to SHWE NAN DAW KYAUNG (GOLDEN PALACE MONASTERY), a superb example of a traditional wooden building and KUTHODAW PAGODA, known as the world’s largest book, consisting of 729 marble slabs sculpted with the Three Baskets of Buddhist scriptures. Enjoy sunset on the Mandalay Hill. Dine at local restaurant and overnight in Mandalay.
DAY4. MANDALAY – MONYWA BY COACH
Breakfast at hotel, drive to Monywa by coach. It will take 3 hours. Visit Than Boddhay Pagoda which is said to accommodate 582,357 small Buddha images; Bodi Tahtaung Pagoda and the 90 meter long, reclining Buddha Image and the highest standing Buddha image (129 meter) in the world and Lay Kyun Sekkya Buddha. Overnight at hotel in Monywa.
DAY5. MONYWA – PHOE WIN TAUNG – BAGAN
After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Leave for Mt Po Win, peaceful and interesting place which is situated on the western bank of the Chindwin River. Proceed to Bagan. It will take 3 hours. Overnight in Bagan.
DAY6. BAGAN SIGHTSEEING
After breakfast at hotel, Sightseeing tour begins with Nyaung U Market before proceeding to Shwezigon Pagoda- the prototype for later Myanmar pagodas built by King Anawrahta in the early 11th century as a religious shrine. Lunch at local restaurant and Transfer to Hotel. Visit Hilominlo Temple, Ananda Temple, Thatbyinnyu Temple- a white stucco building, the highest temple in Bagan built by King AlaungSithu in mid-12 Century; Gawdawpalin. Transfer to Hotel. Evening tour begins with Dhammanyangyi Temple, the most massive structure in Bagan, built by King Narathu (1167-70), Manuha Temple and LawkanandaPagoda, enjoy the beauty of sunset over the majestic Ayeyarwaddy river with the backdrop of TantKyi Hill. Dine at local restaurant and overnight in Bagan.
DAY7. BAGAN – YANGON BY FLIGHT
After breakfast, transfer to Nyaung U airport for departure flight to Yangon. Upon arrival, visit LawkaChantha Abaya Lahba Muni Buddha Image – sculpted from a huge marble stone. The Title means – Lord Buddha – blessing the whole Universe to be healthy, prosperous and free from danger. Then continue tour to the Sacred Tooth Relic Pagoda and the University of Theravada Buddhism, World Peace Pagoda and MahaPasana Cave where the Sixth Buddhist Synod and the World Buddhist Summit were held. Shopping at Bogyoke Market (Scott) Market with hundreds of food, clothes, handicrafts and gems stores and sightseeing to Royal Lake and Karaweik Royal Barge. Dine and overnight at hotel in Yangon.
DAY8. YANGON DEPARTURE
Breakfast at hotel, sightseeing to the city center including City Hall, MahaBandoola Park, Independence Monument and Sule Pagoda. Then, transfer to International airport for departure “HOME SWEET HOME”.
